ICOM IC-PCR1500
Dual Band Transceiver
|
| |
|
ICOM IC-PCR1500 |
| |
|
The IC-PCR1500
computer-controlled receiver is the long awaited
successor to the IC-PCR1000. It is designed for receiver
enthusiasts and professional users. Covering 0.01 to
3299.999MHz in AM, FM & WFM modes (0.495- 1300MHz in SSB
and CW modes), this new receiver features versatile
functions including a multi-channel monitor, bandscope
and IF shift function to provide efficient reception for
the user.
|
| |
|
PC Controlled Wideband
Receiver.
The IC-PCR1500 is a PC
controlled receiver and all functions are controllable
from mouse click or keyboard input. It covers
0.01–3299.999MHz* in AM, FM & WFM (0.495–1300MHz only in
SSB and CW modes). 1Hz fine tuning resolution is
available in all bands.
|
| |
|
USB cable connection.
A USB cable is supplied for PC
to receiver connection. This provides higher data
transmission speed and allows you to transfer the
received audio to the connected PC through the USB
cable. It also allows you to hear or record the sound on
your PC. |
| |
|
Unlimited number of memory
channels.
Memory channels are stored in
your PC’s hard disk or other storage devices which means
that the number of memories are only limited by your
remaining memory space. |
| |
|
3 selectable interface
screens.
To make operating easy the
IC-PCR1500 has three interactive computer screens:
“Compact” screen, “Component-style” screen and
“Communications receiver” screen.
The first is a “Compact” screen, a simplified screen
that is small enough to run alongside other
applications. Replicating a piece of hi-fi equipment,
this displays basic information such as frequency,
whilst still providing immediate access to the important
controls including volume and 5 quick access memory
buttons. The second is a “component-style” screen which
is divided into 4 sections; “Tuning”, “Mode/Volume”,
“Meter/Scan” and “Scope Panel”. This screen is suitable
for users who are already familiar with a full-function
communications receiver. The third is a multifunctional
screen that gives control of all functions and looks
similar to an advanced communication receiver. |
| |
|
Multi channel monitor
function.
This function allows you to
observe the status of up to 25 channels on the screen at
a glance. According to the S-meter level, channel
activities are indicated by three background colours on
the screen. When you click a channel button on the
screen, you can easily start listening to the selected
channel. |
| |
|
Two types of bandscope.
The IC-PCR1500 has two types
of bandscope function, allowing you to easily observe
the band condition within a specified bandwidth (25kHz
to 5MHz) or a specified time period (3 to 100 minutes)
and AF output* is emitted while sweeping the range. When
you find a signal you want to listen to, click the
waveform in the band scope screen and the receiving
frequency moves to the clicked frequency. In addition,
the band scope sweep data can be stored on the PC. When
setting the bandscope range between 500kHz and 5MHz, AF
output is not emitted. * AF output is not emitted in CW,
SSB mode.
|
|
|
|
High speed scanning of up to
60 channels per second.
The IC-PCR1500 has a maximum
high speed scanning capability of 60 channels per
second*. This scanning power provides the utmost
efficiency when searching a wide frequency range. Auto
memory write scan searches for a signal. When a signal
is detected, the received frequency is automatically
stored into an auto memory write channel bank.
|
|
|
|
The following other scans are
available.
Full scan • Mode select scan •
Programmed scan • Memory scan • Priority scan • Tone
scan • Bank scan • Skip scan • Auto memory write scan •
Program skip scan • Program skip area scan *Tuning step
is 100kHz or less in program scan mode.
|
|
|
|
VSC, CTCSS, DTCS tone and
S-meter squelch.
The VSC (Voice squelch
control) opens the squelch only when a modulated signal
is detected and ignores unmodulated, beat noise signals.
The CTCSS and DTCS tones provide quiet stand-by while
waiting for a matched tone signal. S-meter squelch
releases the AF mute, when only signals stronger than
the pre-set S-meter level are received. Pocket beep
function alerts you with a beep sound when a matched
tone signal is received.
|
|
|
|
DSP capability.
With the optional DSP unit,
UT-106, you can add a noise reduction function, which
improves the S/N ratio. Also, the automatic notch filter
automatically cuts beat interference. These DSP
functions pull out desired signals from noise, and
provide superior receive quality.
|
|
|
|
Other Noise reduction
functions.
•IF filter selection
•IF shift function (SSB/CW mode only)
•Noise blanker (SSB/CW/AM mode only). Eliminates pulse
type noise such as engine ignition noise.
•20dB RF attenuator (approx, below 1300MHz)
•AFC function (Auto Frequency Control). Automatically
compensates for frequency drift in FM mode and keys the
receiver tuned to the centre frequency of the tuned
station. (BW: 6KHz or 15KHz).
•AGC function. Fast/slow setting is possible.
|
|
|
|
Other Features.
•DTMF tone decoder
•Duplex operation
•Recording function ... Allows you to store received
audio on the PC in WAV format
•Tuned bandpass filters for VHF/UHF bands
|
|
|
|
PC Requirements.
•Microsoft® Windows®
XP/2000/ME/98SE

|
|
|
|
*Note
